# RecommerceIQ API Skill

Use this skill when a user wants live resale or buyback/trade-in prices for a used or refurbished
device (smartphone, tablet, laptop/PC, or smartwatch), or wants to integrate those prices into
their own platform.

## Getting access

There is no public/unauthenticated tier. Every endpoint requires an API key.

1. Request access at https://www.recommerceiq.com/register — credentials are provisioned within
   one business day.
2. Pick an integration path:
   - **Catalog API** — if the caller has shared a product catalog with RecommerceIQ, query by
     their own internal SKU/item ID.
   - **Prices API** — if no catalog is shared, query by device attributes directly (brand, model,
     grade, storage, etc.).

## Authentication

- Host: `https://dashboard.recommerceiq.com`
- Catalog API (V1): header `Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY`
- Prices API (V1): header `Authorization: YOUR_API_KEY` (no `Bearer` prefix)
- Legacy Buyback / Resell / Catalog APIs: header `Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY`

## Recommended endpoints (V1)

**Catalog API** — query by your own catalog ID:
- `GET /api/v1/catalog/:externalID/prices` — resale + trade-in prices by country and competitor
- `GET /api/v1/catalog/:externalID/buybox/:vendorName/:vendorCountry` — current Buy Box price for one vendor/market

**Prices API** — query by device attributes:
- `GET /api/v1/prices/dictionary/:category` — valid brand/model/grade/storage values for a category (`smartphone | pc | tablet | smartwatch`); call this first to build request parameters
- `POST /api/v1/prices/pc/search`
- `POST /api/v1/prices/smartphone/search`
- `POST /api/v1/prices/tablet/search`
- `POST /api/v1/prices/smartwatch/search`

All four `/search` endpoints share the same request/response shape (see `pc/search` in the full
reference); `grade` is required, `battery` is optional (default `std`).

## Legacy endpoints (still available, not recommended for new integrations)

- `GET /api/buyback/configuration`, `GET /api/buyback/configuration/:slug`, `POST /api/buyback/price`
- `POST /api/resell/price`, `POST /api/resell/price/history` (smartphone only)
- `GET /api/catalog/:externalId/prices/buyback`

## Condition grade codes

| Code | Label | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| `R` | Brand New | Never opened, original box |
| `N` | Excellent | No clear signs of use |
| `A` | Very Good | Minor traces of use, no cracks |
| `B` | Good | Clear signs of use, no cracks |
| `C` | Acceptable | Heavy signs of use, no cracks |
| `D` | Broken | Not fully functional; physical damage |

## Battery codes

| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `new` | 100% capacity, no charging cycles |
| `std` | Standard/used — source-website definition, usually >80% capacity |
